This policy explains how GRASEN ("GRASEN", "we", "us") collects and uses personal information when you visit shop.grasen.com, buy a product or contact customer support.

Information we collect

Depending on how you use the store, we may collect:

  • identity and contact details, including your name, billing or delivery address, email and telephone number;
  • order, payment-status, delivery, return, refund and customer-support records;
  • product, vehicle and power-supply information you choose to provide for compatibility support;
  • account and preference information;
  • technical and usage information, including IP address, device and browser data, cookie identifiers and interactions with the store;
  • marketing preferences and records of consent or objection; and
  • information required to prevent fraud, protect the store and comply with law.

Payment-card details are processed by Shopify, Oceanpayment and the payment providers involved in the transaction. GRASEN does not normally receive the full card number.

How and why we use information

We process information to:

  • process payment, fulfil orders, provide updates, handle returns and provide requested pre-sale or after-sales support, because this is necessary for a contract or steps requested before a contract;
  • maintain transaction, tax, product-safety and compliance records where required by law;
  • prevent fraud, secure and improve the store and manage customer relationships, based on our legitimate interests balanced against your rights;
  • send email marketing where you have consented or another lawful basis applies; and
  • use non-essential analytics or advertising technologies only after obtaining consent where required.

Providing information needed to process an order is contractual. If it is not provided, we may be unable to complete the order.

Who receives information

We share information only as needed with service providers such as Shopify, Oceanpayment and other payment processors, fraud-prevention providers, fulfilment partners, return-service providers, carriers, customer-support systems, professional advisers, analytics or advertising providers you consent to, and public authorities where required by law. These recipients may act as processors or independent controllers depending on their service.

We do not sell personal information for money. Where data sharing or targeted advertising is regulated as a sale or sharing, we provide the consent or opt-out controls required by applicable law.

Shopify

Our store is hosted by Shopify. Shopify processes information to provide the storefront, checkout, commerce and security services. Shopify's consumer privacy information is available at privacy.shopify.com.

International transfers

GRASEN and some service providers may process personal information outside the UK. Where UK personal information is transferred to a country without UK adequacy regulations, an approved safeguard or another lawful transfer mechanism will be used, with supplementary protections where required. Contact us for information about the relevant safeguard.

Retention

We keep information only for as long as needed for the purposes above. Order, invoice, tax and dispute records are generally kept for up to six years after the relevant transaction, or longer where applicable law or an active claim requires it. Support and warranty records are kept for the life of the relevant matter and a reasonable period afterwards. Marketing records are kept until consent is withdrawn or you object, together with a limited suppression record so we can respect that choice.

Your rights

Subject to applicable data-protection law, you may ask us to provide access to your information, correct it, erase it, restrict its use, transfer it, or stop processing based on legitimate interests. You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier lawful processing. You may also have rights concerning solely automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects.

To exercise a right, email contact@grasen.com. We may need to verify your identity. UK customers may complain to the Information Commissioner's Office. We would appreciate the opportunity to address the issue first.

Cookies

We use essential technologies needed for the site, checkout, security and preferences. Non-essential analytics or advertising technologies are used only after consent where required. You can accept, reject or change non-essential choices through the cookie banner or Cookie preferences link.

Children

This store is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children for the purpose of selling EV charging or energy products. Contact us if you believe a child has provided information inappropriately.

Changes

We may update this policy when our services, providers or legal obligations change. We will publish the revised effective date and provide additional notice where a change materially affects your rights.
